An AssetTag, also known as a property label, indicates which person and/or organization owns the item through a unique barcode or numbering. An IT support staff member can quickly identify the device with an AssetTag and even take control of it remotely.
The unique code on the AssetTag can also provide quick insights into things like warranty, history, or origin of the item.
